East Barnby Class 9 - Day One

Class 9 have arrived in East Barnby in the dry. Dorms were located and most beds have been made!
Children have got their kit and all have had their lunch ready for a vigorous afternoon in the beck.
Thanks for those who waved us off this morning.

The children have taken full advantage of the warm and sunny weather --- getting somewhat wet in today's beck scramble.

Everyone has become very good at working out how many layers to wear and how to help their friends. They have worked really collaboratively to work their way up, down, across and in the beck. Some were fascinated about the effects of last week's storm (trees and rocks had been loosened) and the fast flowing water. Freddie remarked, rather poetically, that the water flowing over a rock looked like a Venus fly trap. Someone later commented that the inside of their wellies was like a pond.

We returned for a well-earned shower and an excellent meal. We have just enjoyed tonight's visit to the tuck shop prior to night time orienteering.
